The stories
of my life.
Chapter 01 · Childhood
A slate
for the whole year
In October 1951, I was five years old. For my first day of school, I walked down to Uzerche with my cousin Jeannine.
She was two years older than me and held my hand for the whole three kilometers.

Your story, ready to pass on.
Great stories begin with small details.
How your parents met, the trade you learned, the decision that changed everything. Your children know bits and pieces. Your grandchildren, almost nothing. These are questions people always end up asking.
No one can answer them for you. And yet the first page stays blank.
What if all it took to answer them was to talk?
How it works
In order or as it comes, by theme, or in a letter: choose what suits you.
Your way
Héritage asks you a question. You tell what comes back to you, from your phone or your computer.

The outline of your book
The AI writes your story from your memories. You read it over and change whatever you wish.
Chapter 1
The kitchen looked out onto the garden. Every Sunday, we would gather around the big table.
I still remember the light on the tiles, and the conversations that went on long after the meal.

héritage.Story 1 · The memory
In October 1951, I was five years old. For my first day of school, I walked down to Uzerche with my cousin Jeannine. She was two years older than me and held my hand for the whole three kilometers.
1Story 1 · What came next
The teacher, Mademoiselle Faure, gave me a slate and a piece of chalk. In the evening, I did not want to give the slate back. I cried, so she let me keep it until the next day. I kept it the whole year.
2Story 2 · The memory
In 1965, at sixteen, I was an apprentice at the Berthier print shop, rue de la Gare. Every Saturday, the boss paid us in cash, in an envelope. My first wages: a hundred and twenty francs.
3Story 2 · What came next
I gave it all to my father. He gave me back ten francs. “That’s for you.” With that money, I went and bought a pocketknife at Roblot’s. I still have it. The rest, my mother put away in the tin on the dresser, for the house.

Before you begin
Yes. The house you grew up in, your first job, someone you met: these are the details that make your story your own. You do not need to have lived through extraordinary events to make a book of it.
All you need is a phone, a tablet, or a computer with a microphone. You open Héritage in your web browser and record your answers out loud. There is nothing to install. You can also write, if you prefer.
Héritage prepares a story from what you tell. AI can make mistakes: you read over each chapter, correct a detail, or change a phrase. You have the last word on your story.
Your memories are private: they are not published on the site. AI processes them to prepare your story. You choose who to share your book with. Our Privacy page explains how your data is handled.
The offer includes a digital book, to download, keep, and share. Printing and shipping a paper book are not included.
